DIY: $1 Hat Organizer
I’m not positive, but it seems like Mr.
Z has a hat hoarding problem . . . and is uninterested in giving any away.
Which is not a big deal, except now we share a closet. I prefer the closet to
be tidy & organized and baseball caps galore can really cramp the
“tidiness” factor.
This is a very simple way to keep hats
organized – for $1!
What you will need: Hanger & “C
Hooks” for a shower curtain
What you do: Attach opened hooks to
hanger and place hats on hook – that’s it!

I did this, but I used my dremel to carve little groves in the hanger bottom, so the shower rings had a bit of a place to "rest into", then, they don't slide all over the hanger, and get unbalanced.
ReplyDeleteSo glad I read this tip! I did this with my scarves and they were all over the place. It was a huge mess! But your idea sounds like the perfect solution!
DeleteSuper idea
ReplyDeleteLOVE this idea - I was just saying how I really needed one of those hat racks for all of my kid's hats, but this will do the trick and best of all it is inexpensive! My favorite!!!
ReplyDeletegood idea. I think that very same brand of shower curtain hangers cost more than $1.00 down here in Austin, TX.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a great idea, but how do you hang the baseball caps that are not adjustable.
ReplyDeleteI found some curtain rings as Ikea that are open and have a clip that would work for the hats that aren't adjustable. Thanks for the great idea!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I just found you via pinterest, and I LOVE this! What type of hook did you use to hang the hanger onto the wall?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure my husband's hat collection would take 3 hangers like this! haha but it'd be a heck of a lot better than this awful one that hands from the ceiling.
Thank you! The mess of ball caps has been driving me crazy for years! This is absolutely a better solution than the hat rack I bought.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this. Hubby's cap collection has been a sore point with us! This is perfect!
