A Throwback on the Fourth

A Throwback on the Fourth

A day of flag flying and family, patriotic parades and prayers – Happy 4th of July!

July 4th holds a special place in my heart as it is not only the day of America's Independence, but also the birthday of my precious late Grandmother, Madeline.  I always thought a day filled of fireworks and food (she was known to be the best cook in the Oklahoma panhandle!) was in perfect timing,  a fitting celebration for such a remarkable woman!

Here we are in 1985, I thought this photograph was perfect as she is dressed in Red, White & Blue! (and I am snacking on Doritos!)

Another throwback, my bestie & I, the 4th of July, 1984. She and her husband will be welcoming their first child, Annie Beth into the world late this summer and I have a feeling she is going to look just like her mommy!

Here we are perhaps serenading our families with our own rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” or “God Bless America” J

Have a wonderful 4th
