Think Pink Wedding Week: Engagement

Think Pink Wedding Week: Engagement

We had been enjoying the city of Chicago –eyeing the goods at The Merchandise Mart with one of my best gal pals Whitney, shopped, shopped & shopped down Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, attended a Cubs game at Wrigley Field (complete with trip to The CubbyBear!) and checked off every genre of food:

By the time our last night in Chicago arrived I was exhausted . . . in fact I remember be lulled to sleep in the late afternoon as I watched Everybody Loves Raymond!  Mr. Z had made reservations on the 95th floor of the John Hancock Building (for which I had the perfect pink Marc Jacobs dress to wear btw) but I wanted to do something “chill” where I could throw on a pair of jeans and not get fixed up! I suggested canceling our reservations and just grabbing a pizza . . . so we made our way to famous pizzeria Gino’s East (where we were able to sign the famous walls!)

Later that evening Mr. Z proposed to a pizza-filled, make-up less, jean wearing me . . . he really knocked it out of the park . . . roses – check, champagne – check, fireworks – check, the sweetest speech complete with tears – check, gorgeous engagement ring – check!  To top it off he had a surprise party awaiting us when we arrived back in Oklahoma to celebrate with family & friends!
